“Nacimiento” and “Muerte” (English: Birth and Death) are a pair of paintings created by non-conventional pictorial mediums.

“Nacimiento” was painted solely with my own blood. In the middle is a section of a shopping cart where a young girl can be seen.

In “Muerte” a canvas was first primed with silver nitrate and afterwards a skull was painted in the middle with a solution of iron (II) sulphate and acetic acid. This solution develops the silver nitrate primer and allows images to be formed by this photographic process.
