Description
Presented at NYTE Porin Juhlaviikot 2017 in Galleria 3H+K, Itsenäisyydenkatu 47, 28100 Pori, Finland on 16.12.17
This performative intervention is composed in two main parts: one room is filled with BlueTooth speakers that hang on from the top as if they were candles; and the other room has a small desk with a chair, a pen and a formulary-like paper where a visitor writes a text and then reads it in front of a wireless microphone.
The formulary-like paper shows the following paragraph: It seems yet again, that the art gallery is full of important people or absolutely empty. Every time I go to an opening this disgusting feeling consumes me over and over again. I think to myself, why did I come to this place? And why did you come to this place, too? One projects this daily stress in the rest of his activities. In the end, it is to find a quiet place, to breath deeply, to drink one litre of water and to think of slow sex is all one needs. So, why are you even here?, and the visitor is allowed to write only in that paper.
In the first room there is a soundscape, that consists of water like sounds like toilets and showers. The spoken text of is looped and played with the soundscape. The visitor has to throw the paper through a shredding machine. The transparent trash lays over a pedestal like a sculpture and one can see the other shredded colourful texts mixed together.
